Family Time With Randomise

We always have a roast dinner on Sundays.  Another Sunday routine is my children leaving their blooming homework to the last minute!  Anyway, after they’ve finished their homework we often play games.  We had a new game to play tonight.

Randomise card game

Randomise

Randomise is a card game suitable for people aged between  8-80 and for between 4-40 players (though I think it would be tricky to play with 39 other players).  The play time is between 30-60 minutes.

The children have been bursting to play this all week so they were very happy it was finally time.

Sunday evening family games

I feel like this game is a mix up of charades, Pictionary and something else.  It’s very unique.  I love the choices you have to be able to indicate to your teammates what’s on your cards.

How To Play

Split into two teams and alternate taking turns. When it is your turn, you must declare whether you are going for an EASY or HARD challenge, and whether you are going to DESCRIBE, ACT or DRAW your way to victory.

Then select a card from each of the three piles of cards (A, B and C). The opposing team will then give you three random numbers from 1 to 3 (eg. ‘3,1,2’).

Look at the words on the cards that match these numbers to discover your new identity. Card A will always describe you (eg. Happy, Hairy, Vain), card B will tell you what you are (eg. Octopus, Astronaut, Lion) and card C will tell you what you are doing (eg. Eating spaghetti, Playing football, Baking a cake).

We had some hilarious combinations that the children tried acting out.

LissyLu was a tired rabbit prancing.

MrLovely (who isn’t the charade, acting type) was trying to describe an obedient poodle (rather craftily using an obedient labradoodle).

What We Thought

We all really enjoyed playing this game.  Our youngest child is ten and they were both more than capable of acting out what was on their cards (in fact, they were better than us at it!).

It was lovely to drag our youngest child away from his electronics and interact with us.  He spends longer than I’d like on his Kindle.

This game comes in a compact box that makes it easy for popping into your bag and taking on holidays or to friends houses.

With the Christmas holidays soon upon us, this game is ideal for a fun, interactive way to spend your time together with family and friends.  It would also make a brilliant Christmas gift.

This game is available from Amazon for £11.99.

Thanks for reading.
