I was so excited to receive my first ever LowToxBox, last Thursday. I love discovering new products, particularly when they’re also in line with my ethics. Its arrival was very welcome because it arrived on a “BestFriend” day (Thursday are when Tor and I spend the day together). Tor was just as excited by its arrival as I was. It also meant we could film a handy unboxing video, which I’ll link at the bottom.
LowToxBox are offering A Life Of Lovely readers an exclusive 10% discount off your first “MonthByMonth” subscription box. Just enter the code: ALIFEOFLOVELY when checking out. Enjoy.
The LowToxBox comes in a white cardboard box with minimal packaging (that can be reused) and no leaflets, which was a refreshing change. The little, handwritten cardboard tag was a beautiful, personal touch.
The Content – Oh My, The Contents!
The box comes jam-packed with lovely things. Packed and squidged. They couldn’t have fitted anything else in there if they’re tried. I’ll show you a photo of all the contents and then go through them with you.
Snact Fruit Jerky
I discovered Snact back in August so I knew I would like these. The great thing about Snact is not only are their delicious treats made from ugly fruit or fruit that would have otherwise been wasted, their packaging is fully compostable. They’re also gluten-free, vegan and count as part of your five-a-day. What more could you want? A winner, in my books.
Fruu – Avocado Lip Balm
A good lip balm is an everyday essential to me. I can’t sleep at night without lip balm (or with dry feet, but that’s a whole other story). I like this lip balm. It delivers the perfect amount of moisture without feeling sticky or gooey. It’s made using natural ingredients such as organic cold pressed avocado oil, coconut oil and aloe vera.
Perkier Foods Quinoa Bar
I generally enjoy these types of bars. I haven’t eaten this yet so I can’t tell you how delicious it is but what I can tell you is that I approve of the ingredients list. It’s stuffed full of nutritious ingredients designed to give you a boost of energy. I’ve read that Perkier is a new British company so it deserves our full support.
Nix and Kix – Peach & Vanilla
This was my first experience of Nix and Kix. I’ve never heard of them or tried their products before. Tor and I loved this! It’s extremely more-ish. How does one describe a drink? I’m never going to be able to do it justice, but here it goes
Stainless Steel Straw
It’s the perfect size for a can of drink. I never ever use plastic straws. They’re extremely damaging to the environment and pretty pointless. Take your own straw when you go out or drink with your mouth. If you have a little peek at the can picture, you can see the straw peeping out of the top.
Mallow & Marsh – Raspberry & Dark Chocolate
We opened these and tried them in the video below. I’m not a fan of dark chocolate or fruits in chocolate but Tor is something of a connoisseur and thought these were absolutely delicious. These are lovely quality – no skimping on the quality as they’re coated the marshmallows in 70% dark chocolate. Tor describes these are posh marshmallows and will be enjoying the remainder of the bag.
Kathy Sue-Ann’s Organic Body Butter
This is a lovely body butter. It’s fragranced with sweet orange essential oil, which is lovely! The packaging is quite basic, a plastic pot with quite a homemade style label. Also, the name isn’t very catchy. It’s a very nice creamy product and absorbs into the skin very well. I love using this on my legs after a shower. The fact that it’s organic and full of healthy ingredients really appeals to me.
Iam By Nature – Honey & Co Face Mask
I am very excited by these last two products!! The Iam By Nature products are packaged in beautiful, eco-friendly, reusable packaging (100% recycled paper). This box contains three cardboard pods with which to make up your natural facemask. Two of the pods contain honey. I love using honey on my skin because it’s amazing – antioxidant and antibacterial. The third pod contains lupin flower.
Iam by Nature – Roz Skincare Mixing Set
This mixing bowl and spoon are made from waste that’s ordinarily thrown away. It’s made from rice husks, which is the tough outer shell on rice grains, it’s 100% biodegradable and BPA free. It’s also one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen!! It comes in a little net bag so you can hang it in your shower. These last two are my favourite items in this subscription box.
