My Vertue Subscription Box arrived last weekend. Oh, the joys. I love the new discoveries that can be made from a Vertue Subscription Box.
Vertue prides themselves on being green and the products contain great ingredients. They’re also, very kindly, offering A Life Of Lovely readers a discount! The code is LOVELY10 which gives you 10% off your first box when you subscribe. Excludes prepaid subscriptions and shop products and can’t be combined with other offers. Enjoy
It’s a great way to discover both award-winning and up-and-coming new brands. This is only my second ever Vertue Box and it’s even better than the first!

The June/July Box
For £30, I feel like the contents are really great value. I like the way that the box is packaged, no unnecessary faff and it’s all reusable/recyclable.
I’ll go through each item and tell you how I’ve been getting on with them in the last week.
Natural Deodorant Cream by Indigenous Beauty
I have extremely high expectations from a deodorant. I’m going to write a post specifically about deodorants because it’s (yet) another subject on which I have a lot to say. This deodorant cream is better than the one I make myself. It passed some very challenging tests and I’ve been using it every day since it arrived (in fact, I’ve almost run out and I will be buying some more).
Puriton Protein Shakes
These Puriton protein shakes are packed with wholesome ingredients that are designed to keep you full. They’re loaded with protein and are designed to keep you full. I’m looking forward to trying these but I haven’t actually done so yet. I did look up the SmartPoints value though and they’re around 6 SP each. I think that’s pretty good for a meal replacement, particularly a good swap given that the ingredients are s fab.
Hurraw Lip Balm
I use lip balm a lot and I know what I like. I like that exact level of moisture provided without being tacky or goopy feeling. I’ve used Hurraw lip balms before and I feel very precious about them. You know when you’d be okay with giving away something that someone needs? Nope, step away from my Hurraw lip balm! This lip balm is vegan, organic, raw and I love it. This will be stashed until my current one has run out and then it’ll be my new best friend. I seriously cannot sleep without lip balm (or dry feet, but that’s another issue).
My only negative feedback would be that it comes in a plastic tube. I’m not sure if it’s recyclable or BPA free and I would check that before making future purchases of this. Saying that, one tube will last me months and months and months, so it’s hardly single use.
Evolve Body Butter
Wow!! The very first thing I noticed about this (after being pleased about it being packaged in glass) was the smell. Do you remember Hubba Bubba bubblegum? It smells like that. I love it. I think it’s really cute that it tells you who made in on the label (thanks Leanne – good work!).
It’s quite a thick consistency, but you’d expect that from a body butter. It absorbs beautifully into the stick without leaving a sticky residue. I would buy this.
Evolve Daily Defence Moisture Mist
Glass bottle = Happy Lu.
I love spray moisturisers and I’m enjoying using this one. The smell is clean and fresh and it feels cooling on the skin. It’s perfect for spraying on your legs post shaving and it also feels great on skin that’s caught the sun. Sweet bliss!
It’s reported to make your skin look younger too. I could get on board with younger looking skin. Yes, please.
Evolve Citrus Blend Aromatic Body Wash
This one. It’s difficult because I think I’d love the product, but I really struggle to get past the fact that it’s in a plastic bottle. Boooo. I loved the packaging their other products came in, so I can’t understand why this one is plastic. It smells divine and I will be using it, I just haven’t yet.
As a brand, Evolve is a new discovery that I’ve made from this latest Vertue Box. I really like the products and their website and they use really lovely ingredients.
Ere Perez Avocado Waterproof Mascara
I was lucky enough to be bought a few cosmetics from the Ere Perez range last Christmas. This is the waterproof version of the current mascara that I use. I love Ere Perez products because of the ingredients they use. They’re natural and lovely and this mascara is really pigmented and long-lasting.
My Final Thoughts
I’m really enjoying using the products that Vertue selected for this latest box. I’m sure they’ll keep me going until the next box arrives towards the end of August. I would really recommend this box to anyone interested in discovering more ethical and green brands/clean products. To get yours, pop along to the Vertue website. Don’t forget the 10% off. The code is LOVELY10.
Thanks for reading.
