A wellness routine is the thing to follow if you’re keen to keep stress low and your mental health balanced. It’s the kind of regime that’ll make you feel like you can approach the day without a problem! Plus, when it comes to needing to ground yourself in times of distress, you can fall back on these mechanisms without a problem.
However, a wellness routine is only as good as your commitment to practicing it. But if it falls by the wayside, don’t let yourself feel bad. You don’t need to heap more pressure on your shoulders right now! Instead, at times when you feel like your wellness routine is slipping, the thing to do is work out what’s going wrong and how you can fix it.
This guide is also here to help you do that. Whatever you like to do to ensure you’re feeling good in both your brain and body, don’t let it crawl away from you without you even noticing. You should look into what’s getting in the way and resolve the interruption, which’ll let you commit once again and be all the happier for doing so.

Lack of Sleep
If you’re not sleeping at night, you’re not going to be feeling good during the day! No matter how much time you spend on your wellness routine, without a full night’s kip, all you’ll be doing is beating back the tiredness in your bones.
Sleep really does make the human body go round. Without it, you feel more like a husk of yourself, and who knows what your brain might get up to! It’s why insomnia is such a troubling issue, despite how dismissed it can be. If you can’t sleep, or you’re sleeping very little, or you’re sleeping a lot but it’s of low quality, you’re not going to be feeling well in any way at all.
So that’s the first thing to tackle. Find out why you’re not sleeping and what you can do about the cause of your restlessness. Maybe it’s a matter of improving your sleep hygiene? Maybe it’s a matter of doing more to tire yourself out? Maybe you just need more naps!
Chronic Pain
Wellness routines that don’t take your physical health into account aren’t wellness routines at all. However, when you’re someone that lives with chronic pain, that pain may occasionally fade into the background when you’re trying to do other things. Indeed, if you’re trying to focus on something else, the goal will be to try and forget you’re in pain at all!
However, if you want to feel truly well, you need to tackle this pain as part of your regimen. That’ll be easier said than done, for sure, but taking time to focus on breathing techniques, making yourself feel comfortable, and busting stress can be helpful in the fight against chronic pain.
You can also incorporate CBD into your routine too. CBD can be effective against chronic pain, for anyone who’s been dealing with pain for years now and has had very little success with other things. Shopping with brands like Naturecan can ensure you have access to reliable CBD products, like oils which can be applied topically to the skin in painful areas.
If you’re planning to use CBD, it might be best to talk to your doctor first, just to be safe.
No Space
Want to do Yoga at home? Maybe you’d like to sun yourself in the garden? Perhaps you’d just like a spot to pop a bean bag and do some meditation? You can’t do any of these things if you don’t have the space!
That can really lay waste to your wellness routine plans, but finding the space to do these activities can be tricky. Firstly they can be a lot of work – you may even need to clear out an entire room to find some suitable space – and secondly, this will take a good chunk of time. Most people don’t have that going spare in their schedules!
That’s why taking a clearout bit by bit is a good idea. You’re not here to clear the space then try to decompress and take some time for yourself. Right now, you’re going to take 5 or 10 minutes to move some things, put stuff away, and throw some other bits out. Then you’re going to come back tomorrow and do this again, and repeat until you’ve got the space you require. Then you can relax!
Sticking to the Routine
We all know how hard it can be to commit to something. When other things get in the way, and those things seem more important, something like a wellness routine is going to be pushed back and maybe even forgotten about completely.
What’s taking time to meditate in the face of your children needing help with homework, or your boss asking you to come in an hour earlier? And in truth, It’s OK to put off your self care for a little while every now and then. If these events are rare occurrences that mean you get to your wellness routine a little later, that’s fine.
But if this is always happening, it’s time to focus on you for a change. Sticking to the routine requires a bit of discipline, but that’ll mostly revolve around being able to say the word ‘no’. Hold your boundaries and have some quality time with yourself. It’s good for you!
