If you are keen to have strong mental health, a big part of that is to love yourself. And to love yourself, you have to know yourself, as strongly as possible, in all possible ways. You therefore need to figure out who you are if you are going to be able to have the strongest possible mental health. In this post, we are going to take a look at some of the main ways in which you can hope to do just that. The following will be really important for you to consider in that respect.

Get Curious About Patterns
One thing you might want to do here is to start trying to notice what kinds of patterns you tend to adopt unconsciously. Most of these will be automatic and you will just find yourself doing them, but if you are watching them closely you should find that you are going to get a really strong sense of what they say about you. The point is to get curious about them, and not to judge them. What do you tend to avoid? What do you chase? And where do you feel most like yourself? These are questions to ponder as you do this.
Question Inherited Scripts
A lot of what we assume is ‘just how things work’ is borrowed from those who looked after us when we were young – and very often, they borrowed it from those before them. You have the power to take what is useful amongst that and discard the rest, and that is something that is going to really help you to make a huge difference to your life. When you can do that, it should mean that you are much more likely to have a strong ability to figure yourself out as well, once you start seeing what is yours and what isn’t.
Curate A Style
You also have the freedom and the option to curate a style that is going to work for you, and that can be as much a mental style as a physical one, though both are important in their own way. Consider everything from your hairstyle to whether or not you would wear belly button rings, and you should soon be able to land on a style that really speaks to you and works for you. The result is going to be an ability to know yourself as you wish to present yourself to the world.

Check Your Inner Critic
You should also make sure that you are not letting your inner critic run riot, which can happen all too easily and can cause a real nuisance. That voice might not actually be yours, as it turns out, and it might be an echo of someone else’s expectations. So checking that and questioning it can be one of the most important and helpful things you do for yourself as you try to figure out who exactly you really are. It’s definitely worth thinking about.
