Pre implantation genetic testing has enabled couples and individuals who have a family history of chromosomal and genetic disorders to have a child who doesn’t have to be burdened with it. This type of testing is only available currently to those undergoing a cycle of IVF to maximise implantation of an embryo that is 100% healthy. About five days after an embryo is at the blastocyst stage, an embryologist can safely remove a few cells from the pre placenta and test them for abnormalities or genetic disorders.
- Preserving fertility. Egg donation, egg freezing, sperm freezing and more. It’s all available these days. Life is very busy and establishing a career and finding a partner is often more difficult than anticipated. - Laser Assisted Hatching. If you’ve previously frozen embryos or you’ve experienced failed IVF due to implantation failure, then assisted laser hatching can help to improve odds. Once a physician implants the embryo, it breaks through the membrane and attaches to the lining of the uterus. In some cases, previously frozen embryos means that the membrane is impenetrable and the embryo cannot implant. With laser assisted hatching, that embryo can break through and then plant into the wall of the uterus.
