It’s been so long since I last wrote a favourite post, so I thought I’d share my June 2023 favourites with you. Let’s get straight into it.
ModiBasics
I first discovered period underwear a few years back and they’re an absolute game-changer. These ModiBasics from ModiBodi are from their cheapest range yet at just £15 for a pair. They hold 2-3 tampons worth of liquid, so if you’re on your period or suffer from bladder issues, these are what you need. They’re super comfortable and make you feel far less paranoid about leakages from pads or tampons. So, not are you being more sustainable and helping the environment but you’re helping yourself feel more confident too.
Oli Leaving School & Passing His CBT
June also meant the end of Oli being a school student. Not only did he pass his motorbike CBT during this month, but he was also let down on his prom car (!!!!) so MrLovely organised a parade of motorbikes to escort him to his leaving celebration. He loved it and the school said it was a first for them too. He gets his exam results in August and, all being well, will go off to college in September.
Eden Perfumes – Vegan & Natural
I discovered such an amazing perfume brand called Eden Perfumes. I was gifted these two perfumes but I’ll definitely be buying more. They have such a great range and all are also natural, vegan and cruelty-free. They’re really affordable too. Based in Brighton, I am BURSTING to visit their shop and choose some more. I blooming love a good perfume.
Rhubarb Season
Rhubarb season is upon us. This means freshly picked rhubarb, which can really only mean crumble. Delicious. My mum has taught Lis how to make a crumble. She’s even more obsessed with it than I am. It’s delicious with custard or ice cream but I’m pleased we can now pick it.
Seaton Wetlands
MrLovely and I discovered Seaton Wetlands one Sunday morning and went for a morning walk one Sunday morning. It was the perfect destination for a morning stroll and we even enjoyed a cup of fresh coffee whilst chatting to the volunteers who worked there. There are various different bird hides in which you can have a nosey to see what’s about and, despite MrLovely’s resting grump face in the photo, we were both delighted to discover it and will definitely be back with the camera.
Pretty Special Beauty Cleansing Butter
Quite how long it’s taken me to discover this beauty, I’ll never know. I have discovered it now though and I think it’s glorious. It smells incredible and cleanses beautifully without stripping my skin. Also, did I mention it emulsifies? It will definitely be something I’ll be repurchasing over and over. Pretty Special Beauty is a really wonderful small indie brand and I love all of their products (do try their overnight balm!). I’ve been using their products since discovering them during lockdown. Their ethics are great, everything is plant-based, hand-crafted and vegan.
