Neal's Yard Remedies - product review

Disclosure

Neal’s Yards Remedies have been around since 1981.  I’ve seen their iconic blue bottles on the LoveLula website for a while.  There’s even a shop in a local town to me.  Despite this, I’ve never really tried any of their products until now.  More fool me!

Using sustainable ingredients, ethically sourced, Neal’s Yard doesn’t believe in using ingredients that will cause you or the planet harm.

Near's Yard Remedies ethos

I’ve been testing out the following products ready for review.  I love the packaging of the products.  They all come in dark blue-tinted glass.  Here they are.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Goodnight Pillow Mist – £15

Neal's Yard Remedies Goodnight Pillow Mist

My sleep has been a little bit erratic lately, as it has been for many people I’ve spoken to.  I’ve been using this for around 6 weeks and it’s been a pleasure.  I love the packaging and the metal sprayer and lid.  It’s not your usual plain lavender spray as is with many pillow sprays.  This mist is a combination of not only organic lavender but also vetiver and mandarin essential oils.  I spritz it on my pillow and my bedding (3 sprays is recommended) and I’ve found I fall asleep beautifully.  I don’t stay asleep all night but I’d say it certainly helps with the going to sleep.  This is a really lovely product to use.  You can read more about this product here.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Facial Serum – £42.50

Neal's Yard Remedies Frankincense Facial Serum

This product is for use morning and evening.  It’s to be applied after cleansing and toning by massaging into your skin in an upwards and outwards sweeping motion.  The first thing I noticed about this product was the smell.  Frankincense is one of my favourite essential oils and it’s so good for your skin.  The key ingredients in this product are sodium hyaluronate which is easily absorbed and deeply hydrating, blueberry seed oil which is packed full of essential fatty acids and rich in vitamin E and then there’s the organic frankincense oil.

When you first apply this, it feels a little sticky for the first few seconds but it settles into the skin beautifully.  I find this serum a pleasure to use and it works really well underneath my suncream/moisturiser.  It does have quite a high price point but that is reflected in both the packaging and the quality of the product.  You can see this here.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Rose & Geranium Roll On Deodorant – £8

Neal's Yard Remedies Rose & Geranium Roll On Deodorant

I’ve been using natural deodorants for about 6 years and will NEVER revert back to antiperspirants again.  I love the smell of this deodorant.  The combination of rose and geranium complement each other beautifully.  I found this worked for me and left me smelling great.  I’m not sure about it offering me 24-hour protection, mind you.  I’d say a solid 12 hours would be more accurate.  You can see this product here.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Beauty Sleep Concentrate – £35

Neal's Yard Remedies Beauty Sleep Concentrate

This was the first product I tried and I love everything about it. Even the name is lovely, Beauty Sleep Concentrate.  This product says you apply 3-4 pumps nightly either over a serum or on its own to gently moisturise and replenish.  It’s a light serum that absorbs into your skin really quickly.

This works in two ways, firstly the calming essential oils aid a restful night’s sleep and secondly, you have the skincare of the botanical extracts.  I love this product and I think it’s well worth the money.  I’ll repurchase it once this runs out.  You can see this product here.

Thank you for reading my review.  If you’ve tried these products, I’d love to hear your thoughts.  Remember, you can catch me on Instagram every day here.  You can read more of my green beauty posts here.
