Brush Your Teeth
Most people already know that brushing your teeth twice a day is recommended by all dentists. There are many reasons for this. Brushing your teeth will remove plaque that spreads harmful bacteria in your body.
This plaque is also responsible for discoloring your teeth. When you want to go one step further, use a teeth whitening toothpaste or ask your dentist about other teeth whitening options.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is useful for all kinds of problems which is why it’s been trending as a natural remedy for the past few years. When you want to remove yellowing from your teeth, add a spoonful of coconut oil liquid in your mouth and swish it around for two minutes.
Avoid swallowing any of the coconut oil as it will have picked up the plaque and bacteria in your mouth. Spit it into the sink and repeat if you feel you need to.
Lemon or Orange Peels
You’ve guessed it- the citric acid in orange and lemon peels can help to whiten your teeth. The natural acidity helps to break down plaque and it can kill certain types of bacteria. If you’re going to try this method, make sure you’ve got plenty of peel to hand.
Once you’ve rubbed one slice of peel across your teeth, discard it, rinse your mouth and repeat. It can be a lengthy process but when you want a quick fix, most people have oranges or lemons lying around their homes.
Apple Cider Vinegar
This is ideal for creating your own mouthwash at home. Apple cider vinegar should only be used in very small quantities when you want to clear stains from your teeth. Don’t use pure apple cider vinegar but add water to dilute it.
Use it as you would use any other mouthwash when you brush your teeth or after you finish a meal and watch the difference it makes in just weeks.
Activated Charcoal
You may have never thought about brushing your teeth with activated charcoal but it works. You can buy activated charcoal from health stores in capsules. Empty a single capsule onto your toothbrush and brush your teeth with it.
Rinse your mouth and spit out the charcoal rinse. Some people have noticed a change within days when using this method.
