My daughter came home from her Dad’s house last month with fake tan and I was completely horrified. It looked great but I knew it wouldn’t have been a non-toxic one. Well, obviously I had to change that. I’ve chosen two options from LoveLula that are natural self tanning options for us to try and review. Here is what we chose.
Green People Self Tan Lotion
Green People self-tan is the first in the UK to be certified organic, which is pretty groundbreaking. This is the best natural tan that I’ve used. There’s no smell really to it, though it does say it’s lightly fragranced with essential oils. It’s really easy to apply. We just used our hands in circular motions and washed our hands afterwards. Here are the before and after photos. It dried after ten minutes and the tan developed into this beautiful golden colour the next day. This was just two pumps of the bottle too!
Green People Self Tan Lotion is made without parabens, alcohol (ethyl alcohol, ethanol), lanolin, methylisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone, phthalates, artificial perfumes, petrochemicals and colourants to bring you the best fake tan lotion that nature can offer.
It’s the DHA, derived from sugar, gives the appearance of a natural tan.
Lusso Tan Self Tan- Light
Lusso Tan people been in the tanning business for 15+ years and tanning themselves for even longer so they really do know their stuff. None of the products in the Lusso Tan range contain parabens or any other nasty chemicals. Every single product is organic, vegan and cruelty-free. This self-tan is a runny liquid and you apply it with a tanning mitt (which comes separately for £7 and is double-sided and really easy to clean with soap and water). I didn’t find this one as easy to apply because it was so runny. There’s, again, very little smell to this. The mitt does feel really lovely on your skin. The liquid is green when it comes out of the bottle and it does make your legs green initially but it leaves your skin a lovely golden brown.
I really enjoyed trying out these two self tans and will be using them both throughout the rest of the summer.
