As a mother, you’ll often know how hard it is to stay on top of everything. Sometimes, it’s just impossible. You may find that you have a million and one things on your to-do list, and you just have no idea how you’re ever going to clear them off. If, at all, you will. But that’s okay. Because that’s very much what life is. You clean the floors one day, then another, then another. You do the school run. You make meals. You go to work. You see friends. It’s all a lot of go, go, go. But if you’re okay with that, then keep it up – you’re doing a great job. If not, maybe you need a hand. Of course, you could try out going minimal and seeing if that helps by reducing what you need to do. But if you do need help, here’s what to consider.
We all need to make sure that the house is clean, but it’s not always that easy to do when you have a full plate. It’s one of those jobs that is never done. Just when you finish one part of the cleaning, you’ll find that there’s even more to do. But if you’re struggling to stay on top of it, definitely call in some help. Hiring a cleaner for a few hours a week could be just perfect for you.
Next up, it could be that you need to bring in some support with your gardening. You may not need this all year round, but it could be that you need to get a lot of work done throughout the year and you have no idea where you start. Whether you need help with a tree, the lawn, or just a general tidy up, see what kind of services are around. This could mean that you have one less thing to worry about.
Another job that we all have to stay on top of day after day, is the laundry! Laundry is something that we all need, but if you have a big family or clothes that need to come back quickly. If you don’t have time to do it all or stay on top of it, bring someone in or send it out.
Do you have time to walk the dog every day, twice a day? It’s great if you do, but if you can’t then maybe you need to hire a dog walker. Or, you could just get one for one of the times a day. Then, that’s one thing less to do!
Finally, may you actually need to get some help with your childcare? When this is the case, it could be that you figure out what kind of options are available. If you know that you want to work and enjoy time away from your kids, then why not consider a childminder, nursery, after school clubs or even a nanny? As long as you feel like you have a balance, then it’s absolutely okay to admit that you need some help.
