As I’m taking part in Veganuary, I’ve been thinking more about the products I use on my skin. Many of the products I use, or certainly have been using, contain ingredients that are derived from animals.
The Green People
I’ve been trying out some vegan skincare products from the Green People. In addition to being vegan, they’re a beautifully ethical brand. They’re certified organic and use natural ingredients so there’s no need to worry about your products containing harsh chemicals. Their products come in recyclable and sustainable packaging.
Below are the products I’ve tried.
QUINOA & ARTICHOKE SHAMPOO
This is the first Green People shampoo I’ve ever tried and it gets a huge thumbs up from me. I love it. The shampoo worked into a mild lather and I found I only needed a small amount. It cleaned my hair really nicely without stripping my hair of its natural oils. I’m looking forward to using this again. You can buy this one here.
QUINOA & ARTICHOKE CONDITIONER
You know when you find a shampoo that smells really good and you wander around making people sniff your hair? Yep. This. It’s gorgeous! It smells citrusy and gingery and fresh and I love it.
As with the shampoo, I didn’t need lots of this product (though I did add a smidgen more because I loved the smell so much!). It’s left my hair feeling soft, hydrated, tangle free. I can see my teenage daughter’s trying to steal this one! You can buy this gorgeous conditioner here (and I recommend you do!).
DAILY ALOE SHOWER GEL
I found this shower gel rich, luxurious and it was a pleasure to use. It contains organic lavender and aloe which really compliment each other. The smell is quite mild and brings a sense of relaxation with it (got to love lavender!). I love that this is a product the whole family can use and I know everyone will love this. You can buy this here.
MINT TOOTHPASTE
A testament to the fact this toothpaste is a winner is that I’ve used it many times before in the past and it’s the one I recommended to my mum post-chemotherapy. It’s really gentle and the ingredients are fantastic. It’s not too strong for my children yet it’s very effective. This is actually sold in a local independent health food shop close to where I live – yay! I love this natural toothpaste. You can buy this toothpaste here.
I’ve saved the product I’m most enjoying at the moment for last. Wow!!! I’ve never used a makeup remover like this. At least, not a natural one, anyway.
GENTLE CLEANSE & MAKE UP REMOVER
Purifying organic cleanser and make-up remover for all skin types.

-
Alcohol-free and rich in moisture-binding and anti-inflammatory actives
-
Formulated to balance and nourish with a sensual aroma

This is creamy, light and gorgeous! It’s like a pamper session every evening before going to bed. I’ve only had this for four days and it’s very quickly worked its way into one of my favourite products ever. It removes my makeup really well, including my mascara whilst being gentle and it feels like it’s really moisturising (obviously I still moisturise my skin afterwards anyway). I think I’m going to start using this in the mornings as well as at night. I think it would be a lovely way to prepare my skin before applying makeup. You can buy this here – do it, do it, do it. You won’t regret it!
If you’re doing Veganuary, good work and I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am! I’d highly recommend looking up the Green People if you’re interested in natural skincare. Green People donate 10% of their net profits to charity. Love.
Thanks for reading.
Disclosure: I was sent these products to review. This doesn’t affect my opinion.
This all looks and sounds brilliant – ps I love your wooden toothbrush. Sarah
So! I am actually giving Veganuary ago and I am loving it. But now I have switched my food I am really interested in the beauty products I use. What contains what… it really makes you think! Will have a look into Green People.
