How To Get A Better Night’s Sleep

A great night’s sleep is one of the best ways to stay healthy. Poor sleep can affect our mental health, productivity and make us more prone to a variety of health conditions. Also, not sleeping well is sure to make you a little grumpy too. 

Your bedroom plays a huge role in the quality of your sleep. You’ve probably already made sure you have the right mattress and pillows, so what else can you do to make sure you’re catching those zzzs?

Turn Off Devices

Electronic devices in your bedroom can play havoc with your sleep cycles.  Turn off the TV and put down your smartphone. If you are one of those people who needs it for an alarm clock, then buy an alarm to keep on your bedside table. 

Blue light and EMF radiation that is emitted from TVs, tablets and phones can be reduced by either keeping them out of the bedroom, switching them off entirely (not just on standby) and blocking the EMF. The best EMF radiation protection devices are from BON CHARGE and they have a lot of choices. 

Use White Noise

Block Out Light

The darker your bedroom, the easier it will be to sleep. If you work shifts, or can’t use blackout curtains, then an eye mask could block out the light so you can sleep at any time of the day. From a simple eye mask to the newer versions with built-in headphones and white noise functions, you’re sure to find one that works for you. They’re so compact that you’ll be able to travel with them too. 

Lower The Temperature 

Even if you love snuggling up under the blankets to sleep, you will benefit from keeping your bedroom colder than usual. Because the human body temperature lowers when it’s asleep, you could feel uncomfortably warm in temperatures that usually wouldn’t bother you. So open your windows or turn on the AC and you’ll soon find yourself sleeping much more deeply. 

Use Scents 

Essential oils have been used for centuries for a range of ailments. Certain scents have been proven to relax people, which makes it easier to wind down to fall asleep. Lavender is particularly popular as is eucalyptus. Keep the scents as natural as possible, rather than using synthetic air fresheners or oils.
