I’m a lover of lovely things and I love to share the things I find that are lovely. I’m going to share with you some of my favourite things that I loved during March.
Lambs
March saw the birth of some spring lambs. I have, until now, only had three sheep. Now, I have an entire flock!! Okay, it’s a very small flock of eleven sheep (four of which are newborn lambs), but wow! They make me so happy. I can happily spend hours around them, stroking them, chatting away to them and fiddling with their fencing. One of my sheep behaves like a dog and comes when you call her and jumps up to be made a fuss off – she has quite pointy feet so it’s quite uncomfortable. I do love my sheep.
Joanna Boulori’s Books
Joanna Boulori’s books are keeping me very entertained right now. I hadn’t heard of her before but downloaded The List after it came up in my Kindle recommended reading list. Very funny! I tend to mostly read at night, whilst I’m in bed, and I woke Mr Lovely up by laughing so loudly. This has happened on more than one occasion whilst I’ve been reading her books so Mr Lovely is not her biggest fan as his sleep is being interrupted! I’m now on her book entitled I Followed The Rules.
The Mindful Chef
The Mindful Chef book is amazing. I was lucky enough to be able to sample one of their food boxes in March and I loved it! You can read my post all about them here. I’ve bought the hardback version as opposed to a kindle version. With cookbooks, I like to have the hard copy to flick through and refer to whilst I’m cooking or meal planning. I like that the recipes aren’t the sort of thing that it would usually occur to me to cook. It moves me away from my comfort zone.
Soap Nuts
I bought a bag of these soap nuts last November. We have a large family with daughters that tend to change clothes more regularly that they need to. Even so, these soap nuts are still going strong. They’re amazing!! It’s a teeny bit annoying that they come in a plastic bag within the muslin bag. Zero waste, EcoZone, no! You put around 6 nuts in the little mesh bag that comes with them. Pop it in the machine with your wash and off you go! You can reuse the same nuts several times. They’re not exclusively for laundry either. I’ve actually boiled some and washed my hair with the water they were boiled in.
Melatonin
I’ve always been a bit of an insomniac. An American friend of mine recommended melatonin to me. Melatonin is a hormone made in the pineal gland that helps control your sleep cycles. I’ve been taking these melatonin supplements before bed and they have proven to be a complete life saver. You can read more about my sleep battles in my insomnia post. These yummy little gummies have become a total relief. The lack of sleep was making me feel horrific.
Yogi And Bear Box
I was lucky enough to be able to sample a Yogi And Bare Box. A monthly yoga inspired subscription box. I’ve been recently getting into the yoga lifestyle and this box made me want to push further. The blue strap in the picture below has been pretty invaluable in helping me along with my stretches. As I’m just beginning, I’m not very flexible. It contained some great stretching exercises and poses. There was also a little packet of Emily Apple Crisps in there, unexpectedly delicious!
There are so many things that I’m already loving this month so I think my April favourites is going to be a long post!! LissyLu is also working on a list of her March favourites, so keep your eyes peeled for that post coming soon.
Cutey lambs, awwww. Oooh, what to try first?? Can’t wait to buy some soap nuts even though its just for the laundry either! 🙂
