Butterwhips, a brand that I’ve been enjoying for almost a year, is now available at LoveLula. I thought I’d write a blog post introducing Butterwhips to you and tell you a little more about them.
The Face Behind The Brand
Victoria founded Butterwhips because her family suffer from dry and sensitive skin, eczema and dermatitis. She found the creams and lotions prescribed or store-bought were greasy, didn’t smell very nice and were often full of unpleasant ingredients. Starting with a course in aromatherapy to better understand the effects of certain essential oils on the skin and the senses, Victoria decided to create relief to their skin ailments that could be made from 100% natural ingredients and that smelt great too.
About Butterwhips
Butterwhips use only 100% natural ingredients in all of their products. The products are packaged in plastic-free, aluminium containers. They have the Leaping Bunny certification as all the products are cruelty-free. They’re also vegan friendly and contain no fillers. All the ingredients are there because they have a purpose. Every product is free from palm oil, synthetic ingredients and animal derivatives.
All of their products are crafted in small batches in their laboratory in Cambridgeshire.
About The Butters
The main base of all the butters is organic shea butter. Shea butter is incredible for your skin because it contains high concentrations of vitamins and fatty acids along with Vitamins A and E. It also contains anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties and is therefore often used to treat a variety of issues. Shea butter melts on contact with your skin and a little goes a long way.
Butterwhips have a great article about butter vs moisturiser here that is a really interesting read. If you don’t know the difference, I recommend you pop along and have a read.
The Butterwhips Range
Butterwhips really do cater for everyone. From tiny babies to bearded men, there is one for every skin type. My favourite is the Planted Feet Balm. There is literally nothing I’d rather have on my feet and I’m quite the connoisseur of foot balms and moisturisers. It goes beautifully with the Planted Feet Whipped Scrub, which is also the loveliest foot scrub I’ve used.
I’ve tried to pinpoint my favourite of the body butters to tell you about, but I just love them all. Indulgent Rebel smells zesty and uplifting. Traditionally Floral combines the distinctive fragrance of Lavender with sweet Geranium and is the one I’ve been using on a sore eczema patch on my wrist. My daughter’s favourite is Exotically Tranquil, with its essential oils of Frankincense and Cedarwood (which is calming and blissful). As I said, they’re all beautiful and each blend has its own benefits. I’d recommend you have a look through and choose one that you like the sound of. You won’t regret it.
