My Monthly Favourites – September 2022

My Monthly Favourites - September 2022

I love sharing with you what I’ve been enjoying over the month  You can see last month’s posts here..  My Monthly Favourites – September 2022 is always going to be a good one because I love autumn time and I feel like I was born for it!  So, what, other than it being the start of autumn did I enjoy this month?  Let me share it with you.

The Last Of The Summer Sun

West Bay, Dorset

On MrLovely’s day off, we went to West Bay in Dorset, which is about 45 minutes away from us for some breakfast at a local cafe and a little stroll.  I love catching the last few rays of summer.  Although Autumn has my heart, I like the cooler weather with the bright blue skies.

Arthur at Lyme Regis

Arthur has also been enjoying his evenings at Lyme Regis beach with his new Dantoy Blue Marine bucket set.  I love Dantoy because their products are sustainably made from recycled fishing equipment.  Lyme Regis is perfect this time of year because the weather is still mostly favourable but it’s also so much quieter than during the height of the summer.

Quality Time With The Grandchildren

Athur and Bodhi at the park

I’ve started looking after Arthur every Monday and our routine is usually, I collect him from nursery then go and get Sophie from her house and we walk to the park so the children can play.  Arthur then comes back to my house where has plays a bit more, we watch Tractor Ted and have dinner.  He loves tractors and all things to do with the farm.

Apple Season

cooking apples on a doorstep

I love apple season and cooking with apples.  They’re such a great way of sweetening food without using sugar.  I made these organic oat muffins and they were delicious.  I’d like to prepare some for a freezer whilst they’re still in season so I can use them throughout the year.

Foodie Festival Exeter

Foodie Festival Exeter

My children’s dad lives at Escott near Exeter and we get on well, along with his fiance and her children.  We met up with them and went to the Foodie Festival.  It was a lot of fun.  We listening to the band Scouting For Girls, who I’m a fan of.  We ate some yummy food and I drank a virgin pina colada from a pineapple.

Smartphone Ring Light

Smartphone Ring Light

I’ve had to do a few stories on my Instargam this month (follow me here) and this ring light has been rather invaluable because the best time for me to talk to my camera is in the evenings when it’s quiet.  This sort of thing is perfect now it’s getting darker earlier and the lighting isn’t so good.  It has an adjustable lightness and just clips onto your phone.

Benecos ID Palette in Florence

Benecos Palette review

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this colour palette.  It’s so autumnal and so very me.  I now wear it every day and it’s just perfect.  It’s refillable so when you run out of something, you can just buy the individual colours and pop them in.  It’s completely plastic free and I just can’t get enough of it.  I chose the shade Florence and I highly recommend it.

Tooth Be Told Toothpaste

Tooth Be Told toothpaste review

I’ve been using this toothpaste for a few weeks now for my morning tooth brusing and I like it.  I feel like my teeth need the fluoride so I use something else for my nightly dental care but I love that this comes in a wooden container.  It tastes lovely and it’s really easy to use with its little spatula.

Beauty Kin Exfoliating Body Bar

Beauty Kin review

Another brand that I absolutely love.  Beauty Kin bars are my go-to every shower now.  I have KP (strawberry skin) on my upper arms and it’s drastically improved since I’ve been using this.  I use it all over my body because it’s really good for my skin and leaves my skin feeling really smooth.  It’s really affordable too.  Oh, and it’s completely plastic-free and natural.  Perfect!

Healthy Eating

healthy nutrition

I was feeling tired all the time, really tired so I thought, since the teenagers are back to their various education establishments, I’d get myself back into eating healthily and I’m really enjoying it.  I’m having ginger shots every day, taking supplements and drinking smoothies and eating lots of seeds in my overnight oats.  I’m feeling much better, and as a result, I’m losing weight.  That wasn’t my main focus, but I do need to lose weight so that’s handy.  I’ll keep you updated with how that’s going.

That’s about my month.  It wasn’t hugely busy but it was lovely.  I can’t share with you what I’ve been watching because nothing has really piqued my interest this mont.  Thanks for reading My Monthly Favourites – September 2022.
