Bakerdays Cake Through My Letterbox

I recently received a cake through my letterbox from Bakerdays.  When I say it arrived through my letterbox, my postman actually knocked at my door because he had other parcels for me (ah, the life of a blogger).  I did actually post it through my letterbox and the cake remained undamaged, which I thought was pretty impressive.

 

The Packaging

The way it was packaged was very clever, I thought.  A tin with holes in it to ensure the cake didn’t sweat.  That was then packaged inside a fitted cardboard box so the cake tin couldn’t bumble and knock around in the post.  Inside the tin, the cake had a little paper tab to make sure it was easy to remove from the tin.  It came with a little card with a note inside, which I thought was cute.

 

The Cake

I absolutely love the way Bakerdays decorated the cake.  They have a large selection of cake designs for all occasions or you can opt to personalise one.  This is the cake I was sent.

It was so beautiful, the very thought of cutting into it was heartbreaking.  The only thing softening the blow was the thought of the chocolate cake.

Chocolate Cake

You have the choice of 6 different variety of cakes; Chocolate, victoria, lemon drizzle, gluten free, wheat free or dairy free.  I chose chocolate.  Can’t beat a good chocolate cake in my opinion.  The cake was moist, chocolatey and delicious. Absolute winner.
